The Horizon's Story

One of the few things I haven't gotten into concept sketching is Horizons, or at least I don't approve of it yet 030 but while I've found the perfect guy to get inspiration from. Robert McCall, the man who did the mural at the end of Horzions called The Prologue and the Promise plus many more Space Murals. His work is just so amazing and I managed to find a complete article on him from Progress City USA. If you don't know who this man is, please folow this link and broaden your Horizon!

Difficulties in the Cortex

Like I said in an earlier post, I've been really unhappy with my drawings of Buzzy. I don't know what it is, but I think there are a few issues that keep me from drawing him to my liking.  First, I'm basing him more off his animated self. Honestly, the last time I ever saw this show was late 90s, early 2000s, so my memory isn't the best on his animated part of the attraction and the animated sequences recorded for tributes like on Martin's Videos are low quality. I hate sounding like a Negative Nancy, but it definitely has been a rocky road for this Commando. Nothing's set in stone yet since I'm still in design phase with him, but here are a few head sketches of him and some notes that I took on it.

Commandering the Brain

Oh dear, I can't believe I uploaded a picture of him after some 2 months of saying, "no >.> he doesn't look right!" so I finally broke down and showed it to you guys, everyone, meet Buzzy from Cranium Command.

Us here at LostCOT have been making sure that Oswald's stay at the WoL is more hands on to the point that he'll uh...

Well, Let's just say he won't forget it :3 BAHAHAHAHAA! AND the little bunnykids will get in on the act as well, though I kind of figured that since there so tiny that they wouldn't have their correct size....

And remember, Use your head, don't use your head ;D

Two good friends

I've been designing Dreamfinder's look, here's one that I did a while back of him and figment in one of their classic poses.

Two birds of a feather...

Share one post together. "Boid" from The Bird and Robot Show will make his way along with Tiger, the auto-making robot, into LostCOT as a sort of mascot to the World of Motion, since it didn't truly have one like JII, WoL or Communicore. I don't know what it is about this character, but I've always found him so interesting.
"Hiya folks and welcome to my show. My name is Boid and I'm here to entertain, educate, and amaze, for I am an audio-animatronicated figure" -Boid

And the lesser known character that was meant for EPCOT Center's World Showcase, but was eventually moved to Tokyo Disneyland. She was never given a name, but she was a part of Meet the World in the Japanese Pavillion.. I named her Tsuru since that is Japanese for Crane. If you've never heard of her or seen her before, try looking up Martin's Video about Japan Pavillion of EPCOT Center.

I'm trying to pace myself because I did work on a lot in the past few months so bare with me and there will be more up soon ;D

Dancing Figment and Communicore costume concepts

I'm finally able to start drawing figment with 0 reference, strange thing is I usually reference myself and my design sheets 0.o but I guess your supposed to do that as a step. Well here's Figment in his little tux and hat from the theater section of the original ride. This part is the area that has gotten the most script done, other than the beginning of the comic.

(This one I'd love to see as a pin, lol, I don't know why :3)

Alright, enough Figment with this blog! I'm going to put a picture of something else....*GASP!*

A quick concept of Oswald's Communicore costume, something that I'm sure he wouldn't be fond of much. It could have been worse, I could have given you Mickey's style costume, or that pin wheel hat that Pluto has.0.0 Anyway, I based his costume off more of Goofy's since that one was less....er...goofy? (how does that even work...)

Hating the Haitus

Been super busy lately doing a 3 piece bumper for Who Framed Roger Rabbit for the Lenny and Shinko Review Show. I've still got much up my sleeve though, including a little tune that has been stuck in my head for the past few months. For now it'll stay that way, but ya never know, one day it might get stuck in your head.

My name is Ortens and I'm here to spread my Disney love, especialy with my new comic, LostCOT, based off of the original rides of EPCOT. I hope to have time soon to spruce up the place to make it look nice for all of my watchers through DeviantART, and my website already affiliated with the comic. It might take me a while to get this site off the ground, but I'm planning to have this place completed by the time the summer is through ;D

So I think it's best to start with the best step foreward, so any questions or comments are 100% welcome! And I leave you with a concept art piece of Figment for LostCOT. See ya around!
